Student Work Portfolio

Aesthetics

Final projects involving executing a body of work with cohesive aesthetics, building on the various elements discussed during classes: Form, 2D Surface Decoration, Texture, and Function. The goal was to consider every element and make sure each decision was made intentionally.

Found Object Teapot

This assignment was an exploration of form creating a “teapot” shape using various household (non clay) materials. This was given as a remote assignment to start students thinking about the important elements of a teapot and function in general.

Wire Maquette

This assignment involved using wire to replicate an object, again looking at the essentials of form and exterior contours. The goal was to create a drawing in space, giving students an idea of how to transfer flat drawings into three dimensions, as well as the reverse.

Surface Decoration
A remote assignment given to encourage students to consider how two dimensional surface was affected by form. Students were asked to create 3 variations of design on paper and then turn that paper into the same 3 dimensional shape.
